How it works
- The doctor forwards the patient from the OPD queue, or the desk admits a patient directly, and assigns a ward and bed.
- The admission gets its own workspace: history and examination, doctor orders, medication chart, vitals schedule and the care team.
- Doctors and nurses add notes and forms from templates, typing or dictating by voice. Records are signed when complete.
- Surgeries move through the OT stages, each with its own documents.
- At discharge, the discharge summary is completed and the bed is freed for the next patient.
Who it is for
It is for nursing homes and multi-specialty hospitals with inpatient beds, from a small surgical setup with one OT to hospitals with several wards. Medical directors, ward in-charges and billing staff all work on the same admission record.
Key capabilities
- Admissions with UHID check, patient photo, payer details and an admission slip.
- Wards, rooms and beds set up by the hospital, with a live bed board and bed transfers.
- Doctor orders and medication administration record (MAR), plus a vitals schedule for the nursing team.
- Patient file: records are signed, amended or voided with an audit trail, and signatures are kept per record.
- IPD templates: build your own forms with structured fields, medication tables and drawing areas, with autosave while typing.
- Voice dictation on IPD pages: admission by voice, voice-filled forms and voice orders.
- OT management: plan a case, move it through pre-op, in OT and recovery, record the exit or a cancellation.
- Case file printed in A4 on the hospital letterhead, with a live preview that updates as records change.
- Reports, documents and discharge summary attached to the admission, with census and occupancy reports.
What does OT management cover?
| Stage | What happens |
|---|---|
| Planned | Surgery is scheduled; pre-op papers are prepared |
| Pre-op | Pre-operative checks and documents |
| In OT | Intra-operative records |
| Recovery | Post-operative monitoring records |
| Shifted out | The patient leaves the OT and returns to the ward |
How does bed management work?
Bed management starts with the hospital's own wards, rooms and beds, set up once. The bed board shows which beds are occupied and by whom, a patient can be transferred to another bed in a few steps, and the bed is freed at discharge. Daily census and occupancy reports show how the beds are used; to work out an occupancy rate or average length of stay by hand, try the bed occupancy calculator.
Less typing for doctors and nurses
IPD paperwork takes time away from patients. In Sehat Nxt, a doctor can dictate the admission details or a progress note, and the form fills in for checking. Nurses can dictate orders and observations the same way.
Typed fields save automatically while the form is open, so a note is not lost if the page is closed. Every edit shows in the A4 case-file preview straight away, so what is printed matches what was written.
Templates can be set per hospital, so each department's forms follow the same layout.
How it connects to other modules
Patients arrive from the live OPD queue. Bed days, orders and deposits flow into hospital billing, including payer and TPA cases.
Investigations ordered for admitted patients go to the laboratory, and medicines and consumables are tracked in pharmacy and inventory. Plans from ₹999 per month.
Questions about IPD Management
Can we use our own IPD forms?
Yes. The template builder lets you create forms with structured fields, medication tables and drawing areas, and choose which records make up the patient file.
Can doctors fill IPD notes by voice?
Yes. Voice dictation is available on IPD pages, including admission by voice and voice orders. The filled form is shown for checking before it is saved.
What happens if a signed record has a mistake?
A signed record is not overwritten. It can be amended or voided, and the change is kept in the record's history.
Does IPD link to billing?
Yes. The admission's bed days, orders and advance payments reach the billing desk, and the final bill nets off deposits.
