Live OPD Queue

OPD Queue Management System with Live Token Tracking

Sehat Nxt is an OPD queue management system for Indian clinics and hospitals. The front desk issues tokens for booked and walk-in patients, the doctor moves the queue from the consultation room, and patients follow their live position, tokens ahead and expected wait on their phone. It is India's First Live OPD Tracking, built into the HMS.

  • Live position for patients

Patients see the token in the room, how many are ahead of them and an expected wait range, updated as the queue moves.

  • Walk-ins and emergencies

Reception adds walk-in and emergency tokens in seconds; existing patients are matched to their hospital UHID.

  • Doctor breaks shown to patients

Instant, scheduled and recurring breaks are recorded, so waiting patients know the doctor is away instead of guessing.

  • Per-doctor or hospital queue

Run a separate token series for each doctor, or one hospital-wide series that all doctors share.

  • Every step of the visit

Mark arrived, in consultation, sent for test, returned, completed or no-show, or forward the patient to IPD.

How it works

  1. The patient books a token online at www.sehatnxt.com, or the front desk creates a walk-in token at the counter.
  2. Reception marks the patient arrived when they reach the hospital. Booked and walk-in patients sit in the same live queue.
  3. The doctor calls the next token from the queue screen and marks each visit in consultation, sent for test, returned or completed.
  4. Every change is pushed live to the reception screen, the doctor's screen and the patient's phone.
  5. The patient sees the token now in the room, the number of tokens ahead and an expected wait, so they can arrive closer to their turn.

Live OPD tracking means the patient does not need to sit in the waiting area to know where they stand. The queue on their phone is the same queue the doctor is working from, not a separate estimate.

What is OPD management software?

OPD management software runs the outpatient side of a clinic or hospital: registration, tokens, each doctor's queue and the visit record. At its centre is a token management system that decides who is next. In Sehat Nxt, the same tokens that the front desk issues are the ones patients follow live on their phone.

Who it is for

It is built for single-doctor clinics, multi-doctor polyclinics and hospital OPDs in India where waiting rooms get crowded and the front desk spends the day answering "how long will it take?" calls.

Owners get a calmer waiting area, reception gets fewer calls, and doctors get a clear view of who is waiting, who is out for a test and who has come back.

Key capabilities

  • Booked and walk-in tokens in one queue, with emergency tokens for patients who must be seen first.
  • Visit statuses: waiting, arrived, in consultation, sent for test, returned, sent for examination, completed, no-show, referred and forwarded to IPD.
  • Reorder and shift tokens when the day changes, and reopen a visit that was closed by mistake.
  • Doctor breaks: instant breaks for the current session, scheduled breaks and recurring breaks, with affected slots shown to patients.
  • Queue type: doctor-wise queues (each doctor starts at token 1) or one hospital queue (all doctors share one series).
  • Slot display: show patients the token number, the time, or both.
  • Room chat: a shared message thread for each doctor's queue, so the room and the front desk can coordinate without phone calls.
  • Voice symptoms: reception or the patient can record symptoms by voice before the visit, attached to the token for the doctor.
  • Follow-up tokens for patients the doctor wants to see again.

What the patient sees

Live tracking on the patient app and website
On the patient's phoneWhat it tells them
Token in the roomWhich token the doctor is seeing now
Tokens aheadHow many patients are before them
Expected waitA wait range based on tokens ahead and any running delay
Doctor on breakThat the doctor is away, so the queue is paused
Distance and travel timeA rough travel time to the hospital, when location is shared

Why live tracking reduces crowding

In a typical OPD, patients arrive early because they cannot tell how fast the queue is moving. When patients can see their position and expected wait, many choose to arrive closer to their turn, and the waiting area holds fewer people at once.

How it connects to other modules

Tokens come from appointment booking and from the walk-in desk. When the doctor opens a token, the visit continues in the EMR and digital prescription screen, and the consultation charge reaches hospital billing.

A patient who needs admission is forwarded from the queue to IPD management. Patients follow the queue on the patient app. Plans from ₹999 per month.

Questions about Live OPD Queue

Do patients need to install an app to track the queue?

No. Patients can follow their token on www.sehatnxt.com in a browser, or on the Sehat Nxt mobile app. Both show the same live queue.

Can walk-in patients be tracked too?

Yes. Walk-in tokens join the same live queue as online bookings, and a walk-in patient can follow their visit using their token details.

What happens to the queue when the doctor takes a break?

The break is recorded in the system and waiting patients see that the doctor is on break. Instant, scheduled and recurring breaks are supported.

Is this a token management system for the front desk?

Yes. Reception issues booked, walk-in and emergency tokens, reorders or shifts them when the day changes, and marks each visit's status. The doctor moves the same queue from the consultation room.

Can several doctors share one token series?

Yes. A hospital can choose doctor-wise queues, where each doctor starts at token 1, or one hospital queue where all doctors share the same numbering.
