Nursing Home Management Software for OPD and Beds

A nursing home runs an OPD and a few inpatient beds with a small team, often with one OT. Sehat Nxt connects the two: patients move from the live OPD queue to admission, the bed board shows who is where, doctors and nurses fill IPD forms by typing or voice, and bed days, deposits and the final bill come together at discharge.

  • OPD to admission

The doctor forwards a patient from the OPD queue to IPD, and the desk assigns a ward and bed.

  • Bed board

See every ward, room and bed with who is admitted, and transfer a patient in a few steps.

  • Less IPD paperwork

Dictate admission details, notes and orders by voice; the form fills in for checking.

  • OT stages

Track each surgery from planned to pre-op, in OT, recovery and shifted out.

  • Deposits and final bill

Bed days and orders collect on the admission, and the final bill nets off advance deposits.

What a nursing home needs from its software

In a nursing home, the same few doctors and nurses run the OPD in the morning, look after admitted patients through the day and handle surgeries when they are planned. Paperwork falls on people who would rather be with patients, and the owner often does the accounts personally.

  • OPD and IPD in one place. A patient seen in the OPD and admitted the same day should not be registered twice.
  • A clear picture of beds. The desk needs to know which beds are free before saying yes to an admission.
  • IPD files that hold up. Notes, orders and medication charts should be signed and complete, with corrections recorded rather than overwritten.
  • Time for nurses. Typing notes and orders at the end of a shift takes time away from patients.
  • Bills that add up. Bed days, orders and lab charges should collect on the admission, and deposits must be netted off at discharge.

How Sehat Nxt fits

OPD runs on the live OPD queue, where patients follow their token on their phone. When the doctor decides to admit, the patient is forwarded from the queue to IPD management, keeping the same UHID and record.

Each admission has its own workspace: history and examination, doctor orders, a medication administration record, a vitals schedule and the care team. Records are signed, amended or voided with an audit trail. Doctors and nurses can dictate admission details, notes and orders by voice, and typed fields save automatically. The case file prints in A4 on your letterhead.

For surgery, the OT workflow moves each case through planned, pre-op, in OT, recovery and shifted out, with the documents for each stage. Daily census and bed occupancy reports show the administrator how the beds are used.

In hospital billing, the admission's bed days, orders and lab charges collect on a running bill, deposits are recorded as they are paid, and the final bill nets them off. Payer and TPA cases can be split between the patient and the payer. Tests go to the laboratory, and medicines can be dispensed from pharmacy and inventory.

Questions from nursing homes

We have only a few beds. Is IPD management too much for us?

No. Wards, rooms and beds are set up by the hospital, so the bed board shows exactly the beds you have, whether that is a handful or several wards.

Can nurses fill IPD notes by voice?

Yes. Voice dictation is available on IPD pages, including admission by voice and voice orders. The filled form is shown for checking before it is saved.

Can we keep using our own IPD forms?

Yes. The template builder creates forms with structured fields, medication tables and drawing areas, so your existing forms can be rebuilt.

How are advance deposits handled at discharge?

Deposits are recorded against the admission as they are paid, and the final bill nets them off. Refunds and credit notes are also supported.
