Multi-specialty hospitals

Multi-Specialty Hospital Management Software

A multi-specialty (multi-speciality) hospital runs many doctors' OPDs, several wards, OT lists, a lab, a pharmacy and a billing desk with insured patients, all on the same patients. Sehat Nxt keeps them on one UHID, with role-based logins for every department, IPD templates per hospital, TPA billing with approvals, and ABDM M1, M2 & M3 Ready record linking.

  • Many OPDs, one front desk

Doctor-wise queues and schedules, with walk-ins and bookings in one live view.

  • Templates per hospital

IPD forms built once so every department follows the same layout.

  • OT workflow

Each surgery moves through planned, pre-op, in OT, recovery and shifted out.

  • Payer and TPA billing

Packages, inclusions and exclusions, payer and patient copies, claims and settlements.

  • Access by role

Owner, admin, doctor, reception, nurse, billing and lab logins, with module access per person.

  • ABDM M1, M2 & M3 Ready

Create or verify ABHA at the desk and link records with the patient's consent.

What does a multi-speciality hospital need from its software?

In a multi-specialty hospital, many teams work on the same patient. A patient may see two doctors in the OPD, be admitted under a third, go to the OT, have tests in the lab and take medicines from the pharmacy before one bill is settled with an insurer. Every handover is a place where information can be lost.

  • Many doctors with different OPD hours, some visiting, and one front desk serving all of them.
  • Consistent IPD records across departments, signed, with corrections recorded and a case file ready when it is asked for.
  • OT lists that show where each case stands.
  • Complex bills: packages, ward-class rates, payer and patient shares, non-payable items and claims that take weeks to settle.
  • Clear access for a large team, so each person sees only their own work.
  • ABHA for patients who come under schemes that expect it at registration.

How Sehat Nxt fits

The live OPD queue runs doctor-wise token series with walk-ins, bookings, emergency tokens and doctor breaks. Patients follow their position on their phone, and patients who need admission are forwarded to IPD.

IPD management covers admissions with payer details, wards and beds, transfers, doctor orders, the medication administration record, vitals and the OT stages. Templates are set per hospital, records are signed, amended or voided with an audit trail, and the case file prints in A4 on the letterhead. Doctors and nurses can dictate notes and orders.

Hospital billing handles tariff plans with ward-class rates, packages, deposits, interim and final bills, and payer and TPA cases with inclusions and exclusions, suggestions from the IRDAI non-payable list, and payer and patient copies. Approvals, cashier shifts and day lock keep the counter in order.

The laboratory and pharmacy and inventory work from the same patient record. ABDM integration lets the desk create or verify ABHA, accept Scan & Share into an OPD token and link records with the patient's consent. Owners can also ask Nxt AI, the voice assistant inside Sehat Nxt, for the hospital's figures in Hindi, English, Hinglish or Marathi.

Because every department works on the same UHID, a doctor opening a returning patient sees earlier prescriptions, lab results and admissions in one place, and the billing desk sees every charge without collecting slips from the wards.
